Peter Dreyfus – Senior Consultant
Peter Dreyfus is a seasoned health care leader, having worked at the cutting edge of policy and health care delivery over a 30 year career in Boston. As a practice leader at Harvard Community Health Plan and its successor organizations (now Atrius Health), Peter guided clinicians, clinical leaders, and operating managers to create compassionate workplaces focused on patient needs while delivering on the promise of accountable care.
While directing two of Atrius’ Boston health centers, Peter led dozens of successful efforts to improve care and patient engagement, and to restrain the growth of medical expenses. The lessons learned from these endeavors comprise the core expertise and wisdom Peter brings to the table and which he is now offering to individuals and institutions.
At the Massachusetts Medicaid program, where he directed the Health Choices program, Peter designed and led early efforts to bring what we now call accountable care to families insured by MassHealth. He subsequently led Massachusetts’ first foray into universal health care through the CommonHealth program: a major Medicaid expansion and extension of coverage to working disabled adults and disabled children.
Peter offers counsel, guidance, and interim leadership to institutions and individuals seeking to excel in the next generation of accountable care.
Peter earned a Master’s degree in management at Brandeis’ Heller School For Social Policy and an undergraduate degree in English from Brown University.
