Organizational Design Example
The Need: A small business had agreed to part ways with its Chief Operating Officer. While they could have merely advertised for the same position, the CEO had a gut feeling that the position could benefit from some fresh thinking and redesign.
What we did: MGA conducted a series of independent interviews with employees and external stake holders. We helped the CEO systematically catalog her business needs, assess current staff capabilities and reconsider the roles she and her new COO might play. We presented her with key questions and blunt opinions which no employee, customer or board member would likely have offered.
The Results: The company adopted a new, clearer set of expectations for current staff, the new COO and the CEO. This helped position the company to meet its operational and strategic needs. The CEO also retained MGA to help ensure a smooth management transition.
